Who left Great British Bake Off 2022? All eliminated season 13 bakers
We said goodbye to yet another baker as season 13 entered Pastry Week.
The semi-finals of The Great British Bake Off came to an end this evening, with this year's finalists revealed.
For the penultimate Bake Off theme the contestants took on Patisserie Week, which saw them tackling a mini Charlottes for the Signature, a vertical challenge for the Technical and a Swedish Showstopper.
But while it was as easy as pie for one baker, who won Star Baker, unfortunately we had to say goodbye to one more contestant.
So, who left the Bake Off tent this week?
Read on for everything you need to know about the eliminated Bake Off contestants so far.
Who left the Great British Bake Off in Week 9?
Janusz just missed out on the final as he became the ninth contestant to leave the tent.
"It doesn’t surprise me. I am just leaving the tent, I am not upset. The best bakers are left clearly. It was an amazing time, with amazing people," Janusz said upon his exit.
Paul said to him: "You are a really good baker," and Prue added: "You are not just a good baker, you are such a lovely guy."
Following his exit, Janusz commented: "Before they announced who was leaving I knew what was coming, so I wasn’t really surprised. Going this far in the series was such a personal achievement for me, so every week I got through was a bonus. And I had so many of those bonuses that I cannot complain."
Who left the Great British Bake Off in Week 8?
Sadly, Maxy left the tent in Week 8.
"You have been so brilliant, honestly," Paul said. "You have got through to the quarter finals and that is a big thing."
Closing the episode, he added: "It’s really sad to lose Maxy as she’s been one of the strongest bakers coming through. It was very close between Sandro and Maxy. Sandro has really got to watch it now."
Maxy said of her final week on the show, "I can’t believe it, I had a bad bad week. I knew it was me, I knew it was coming but I was hoping my Showstopper would save me. It’s really sad to go but I am happy and proud that I have made it this far."
Who left the Great British Bake Off in Week 7?
Kevin has become the latest contestant to leave the Channel 4 baking show.
"I am nothing but proud," he said following his exit. "The imposter syndrome was real – coming into this competition I didn’t feel I deserved a place. I feel I can count myself as one of this talented bunch."
Who left the Great British Bake Off in Week 6?
Dawn left the Bake Off tent last week.
Following her exit, the 60-year-old from Bedfordshire said: "I love Halloween and at home we tend to really go for it, so my leaving in that week won’t put me off! I always do lots of bakes for the local children and I always try and bake something cool for them, and of course this year it will have added meaning.
"The kids won’t know who I am but the mums and dads will know who I am because it’s a small place where we live, so I think we will have quite a few children come knocking this Halloween."
Who left the Great British Bake Off in Week 5?
Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to fan-favourite Carole in Week 5, who had struggled with her bakes throughout the competition.
The 59-year-old supermarket cashier had managed to avoid elimination despite spending the last three weeks in the bottom.
She was sent home this week after encountering disaster with her steamed puddings and failing to impress with her Technical and Showstopper bakes.
"That's alright, it's my time to go," she said. "I am very proud of myself. I came here to achieve something as I get older. Even to get through and walk through the tent – that is an achievement in itself. And those bakers - what a great bunch of people!
"I always felt each week was going to be my last, but I knew on Dessert Week my time was up. I didn’t dream in a million years that I would get to the halfway mark, so in my mind it’s a celebration rather than a downer.
"I always like to look on the bright side, it’s in my nature, and you have to remind yourself it’s only pudding rather than just desserts!"
Who left the Great British Bake Off in Week 4?
Rebs and James became the latest contestants to be eliminated from the Channel 4 baking show.
"You either love or hate Mexican food, so I think you would love or hate Mexican week. And I have to admit I hated it!" James said. "Not sure if I will be eating tacos for a while, I don’t think they will taste the same anymore! I think Matt must have found it hard to announce two bakers were leaving, but that night in the bar Rebs and I were looking forward to going on An Extra Slice together."
Rebs added: "I think three of us Bakers were in danger, and poor James did have a nightmare. I was mainly sad because I didn’t get to do Dessert week, because that alongside Bread Week were the weeks I was most looking forward to. I was looking forward to Bread Week as everybody loved my bread recipes at home, and the same for Dessert Week, so out of all bakes in prep for the show, the family loved my Dessert Showstopper.
"But it wasn’t it to be, everything happens for a reason. In Northern Ireland there is an expression: 'What’s for you won’t go by you.' But I got to take home an amazing experience and a whole new family."
Who left the Great British Bake Off in Week 2?
Maisam was the second contestant to be eliminated from season 13.
"I think I am definitely feeling proud as I am only 18 so this is not the end of my baking journey - this is where it starts," she said upon her exit.
"I have learned so much from being in the tent! This experience has been a complete learning journey that taught me so much from new baking skills and tips to actually challenging myself to bake in an unfamiliar baking environment.
"I can definitely say that this experience has been life-changing because it has taught me to dream bigger and never underestimate baking because it can definitely take you places."
Who left the Great British Bake Off in Week 1?
Unfortunately, Will was the first contestant to be eliminated from Bake Off this year.
"Somebody has got to go first and obviously I am disappointed but I am proud to have made it," he said following his exit.
"Yeah, I am alright. There is obviously a lovely bunch of people that I have met, and I have got an experience that I can definitely talk about and share. I am proud of that."
Prue told him: "Honestly, Will, you should just feel proud of yourself."
"Well done, Will!" Paul added.
Speaking of his experience on the show, Will continued: "I learnt from my experience in the tent that baking can be hard work but rewarding! Well I wasn’t there long but I would say that my best moment was Noel’s reaction of my home cake! My worst moment had to be... Italian meringue buttercream."
